Some Progress Made, More Work Remains

Southern California UFCW representatives met last week with Stater Bros. While we have made progress on many issues, more work remains to be done and we will continue to work together until a fair and equitable agreement is reached.
In the meantime, all Southern California UFCW unions have signed a contract extension with Stater Bros. This means all terms of the previous collective bargaining agreement with Stater Bros., including your current wages, pension, health and welfare benefits, will continue until we conclude a new agreement.
Please note that our negotiations with Stater Bros. concerning pension, health and welfare benefits are tied to negotiations with Albertsons, Vons and Ralphs.
To help move our talks with Albertsons, Vons and Ralphs forward, all parties have requested the assistance of the Federal Mediation Service. The same federal mediator who helped the parties resolve negotiations in 2007, 2011 and 2014 will be attending all future bargaining sessions.
We have more negotiations scheduled through the end of May and into June.
