WASHINGTON, DC - The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) congratulates Richard Trumka on his election as AFL-CIO President. He brings passion and forceful leadership to the cause of working people. And the UFCW looks forward to working with President Trumka on a range of issues, including the effort to transform the labor movement so that it can more effectively respond to issues confronting 21st century workers. The UFCW has been, and will continue to remain, fully engaged in the National Labor Coordinating Committee to bring about a united labor movement and I believe that Rich Trumka is committed to that as well.
