Health Care Reform- National Click to Action
What: UFCW National Click to Action Day! Call on Congress to include part-time workers in health care reform!
Unlike the House health care bill, the Senate bill does not hold large employers responsible for their part in providing quality health care for workers and will put more pressure on employers to shift workers from full-time to part-time. Ask your Representative to strengthen the employer responsibility provisions in the bill when it goes to Conference and to support real health care reform that involves individuals, employers, and the government in the solution.
Where: Go to our site for fixing health care www.fixthebill.org, or go to the UFCW website and under Issues, click on Health Care. There you'll find a cool web-based calling tool and talking points to help with your short call to Congress.
When: All Day Wednesday, January 13, 2010
Why: It is our responsibility to keep up the fight. Part-time workers deserve full-time health care. We need to finish health care reform right!
How: Go to www.fixthebill.org and click to take action! You will be connected to your Congressmember’s office and can let him/her know how you feel about health care reform and how important it is to cover part-time workers.
We plan to completely flood the Congressional switchboard and crash their phone system! We need everyone to participate in these calls to let Congress know how important Employer Responsiblity and full coverage for part-time workers is! If you get a busy signal, try again and keep trying! Leave a message if you get sent to voicemail. Make sure YOUR voice is registered with you member of Congress on this National Click to Action Day!!
